Building
Relationships
TheraTrust promotes close therapist-patient interaction and
family involvement. Therapists are available for individual patient
conferences to discuss a patient’s progress, update family members
and answer any questions. When a patient reaches short-term
rehabilitation goals and a discharge to home is near, TheraTrust
Inc. provides a home assessment. This home assessment includes the
therapist(s), patient and family members traveling to the patient’s
home to determine the safety of the environment. Home assessments
allow therapists to make appropriate safety recommendations and
patients to have a “trial run” in their usual environment. Often,
this visit eases patient and family apprehensions about returning
home and gives the patient a boost of confidence.
